Meet a Scientist: Following in Her Foote Steps
In 1856, a little known female scientist, Eunice Newton Foote, conducted a simple yet seminal experiment revealing carbon dioxide's role as a green house gas. While it took many years for the full implications of her findings to be appreciated and for the physical and chemical processes underlying this result to be uncovered, her work provided a critical foundation. This video introduces a Biophysics PhD candidate who works in the KC Huang lab in the Stanford Bioengineering Department, Rachel Porter. Rachel talks about her background and passion for the environment and created an experimental procedure to replicate Foote's work and supplementary learning materials with the goals of (1) demonstrating the historical contributions of female scientists, (2) enabling students to discover for themselves how the greenhouse gas effect works, and (3) providing a fun learning activity for students, scalable from elementary to college level courses.

Open Cure 365nm UV LED Curing Tool
Переглядів 457Рік тому
This is a tutorial of the Open Cure 365nm UV LED Curing Tool, which was made by gutting out and modifying an old Loctite mercury vapor lamp curing tool. This puts out true 365nm Ultra-Violet light, which is invisible, which is good for curing most broad band photo-resists, as well as narrow band resists such as SU-8, which is optimized for 365nm. Please follow all safety and usage recommendatio...

Standard operating procedures of the Eddy Current tool in SNF. The LEI1500 Eddy current system measures sheet conductance (mhos/square) as a proportional DC voltage, before and after moving the sample under the sensing coil with magnetic field. This allows contactless measurement of Sheet Resistance by Eddy current. It measures bulk samples or films of sheet resistance from below 0.1ohm/sqr to ...
